9:00am Using SAS Clinical Data Integration Server to Implement and Manage CDISC Standards
Abstract: The SAS metadata server is a core component of all SAS 9 solutions. It delivers the power to integrate, share, centrally manage and leverage metadata across entire organizations. Through these capabilities, standard data models such as the CDISC Study Data Tabulation Model (SDTM) can be deployed and leveraged by all users in your organization without the need for developing additional metadata libraries or programs. In this paper, we examine the value that the SAS open metadata architecture can bring to your organization, how the SDTM data model is implemented in the metadata server, and how the metadata can be leveraged by SAS products and solutions such as Data Integration Studio. |

| 1:00pm WORKUNIT Journaling; Technique for Metadata Performance Enhancement Abstract: In a multiple processor environment it is possible to configure a Metadata server to not only respond faster but also to provide an enhanced recovery method during a metadata failure. Metadata default and workunit process as well as configuration techniques will be presented. |

2:10 Clinical Trial Reporting Using SAS/GRAPH SG Procedures
Abstract: Graphics are a powerful way to display clinical trial data. By their very nature, clinical trials generate a large amount of information, and a concise visual presentation of the results is essential. Information about the patient population, drug dosages, clinical responses, and adverse events must be clear. Clinical laboratory results need to be presented within the context of acceptable limits, and subtle changes over time must be highlighted. This presentation will show by example how such graphs can easily be created using the SAS/GRAPH SG procedures. |

| 3:00 Healthcare Data Dilemma? Abstract: Data is only turned into information after some level of business consideration. But, with so much data available, how can you decide what data to focus on, what to avoid, and how to present the data (reports, dashboards, etc) for best use? This session will prepare participants to filter through all the data available to them, find the hidden gems and present them in a visually impactful manner. |
